The Mill Barns, Spring Wedding

Charlene & Anthony’s Beautiful Wedding at The Mill Barns, Shropshire

Charlene and Anthony’s wedding at The Mill Barns in Shropshire was nothing short of magical. From the early morning bridal preparations to the romantic portraits in the gardens, every moment was filled with love, joy, and the most stunning details. Their day was a perfect reflection of them - elegant, heartfelt, and full of warmth.

A Relaxed & Joyful Morning, At The Mill Barns

The morning began with Charlene and her bridesmaids getting ready in the beautiful bridal suite. There was such a relaxed and happy energy in the room, as they sipped on glasses of Prosecco and chatted excitedly about the day ahead. Charlene, who decided to do her own hair and makeup, looked absolutely radiant—her natural beauty shining through as she perfected her bridal look.

Surrounded by her closest friends, there was plenty of laughter, little happy tears, and those cherished quiet moments of reflection before the ceremony. As the final touches were made, anticipation filled the air, and it was clear just how much love and support surrounded Charlene on her special day.

The Mill Barns, Ceremony Room.

A Romantic Ceremony Framed by Florals & Draping

The ceremony room at The Mill Barns was breathtaking. With its high ceilings, large windows, and warm wooden features, it created the perfect backdrop for Charlene and Anthony’s vows. Their floral arrangements, including delicate roses and pastel blooms, framed a beautiful wooden arch where they stood, making the setting feel soft, romantic, and intimate.

The big moment!

Both Charlene and Anthony were a little nervous before the ceremony, but the second they locked eyes at the top of the aisle, you could see all the nerves melt away. Their love for each other was so evident in that moment—Anthony beaming with pride, and Charlene glowing with happiness. One of the most touching moments was when Anthony gently moved Charlene’s veil over her face, revealing the most beautiful smile. It was such a special and emotional part of the day, marking the start of their journey as husband and wife.

Sunshine, Music & Celebration

After the ceremony, the newlyweds stepped outside into the glorious sunshine, where their guests were waiting to celebrate them. The atmosphere was filled with joy—glasses clinking, laughter ringing out, and the soft sounds of a guitarist playing in the background. It was one of those perfect, golden afternoons where everything just felt warm and wonderful.

Charlene and Anthony spent time mingling with their loved ones, soaking in the moment as newlyweds. You could see how much love surrounded them, from the beaming smiles of their families to the heartfelt congratulations from their friends.

Dreamy Portraits, in The Mill Barns Gardens

We then took some time to capture their portraits in the stunning gardens. The tall trees, lush greenery, and the enchanting garden folly created such a picturesque setting for their photos. Their portrait session was so relaxed and effortless, just like their love for each other.

As they walked hand in hand, laughing and stealing little glances at each other, it was clear just how natural and comfortable they were together. The soft pastel tones of Charlene’s bridal bouquet complemented the surroundings beautifully, making each photo feel timeless and elegant.

Genuine moments

I couldn’t help but laugh with C&A on the way back, as a sudden gust of wind made Charlenes veil fly all over the place! It was a cute little moment as they burst into laughter!

A Joyous Wedding Breakfast & All Of The Details

As the sun began to lower, it was time for Charlene and Anthony to rejoin their guests for their wedding breakfast. The reception space was beautifully decorated in their pink and soft pastel colour scheme, with tables adorned with romantic floral arrangements. The attention to detail was impeccable, and the atmosphere inside was just as warm and inviting as the rest of the day.

(I’ll always capture details of the florals, tables and room! You spend so much time making your day perfect. So I like to capture as many details as I can!)

A Wedding to Remember

Photographing Charlene and Anthony’s wedding was such a privilege. Their day was filled with emotion, beauty, and so many beautiful moments! from the laughter over morning Prosecco to their heartfelt vows, the dreamy garden portraits, and the joyful celebrations with loved ones.

The Mill Barns provided the perfect setting, but it was Charlene and Anthony that truly made the day so special. They share a love that is gentle, joyful, and deeply connected, and it was an honour to document the start of their forever.

On the morning of the preparations, the air was full of excitement! Jen got ready at a local AirB&B, with the most stunning views of the West Yorkshire countryside. Jenny was super relaxed, happy & smily and was surrounded with her mum, her sister, her newborn baby (Alice!), as well as her niece and dad.

The day was super sunny, and everyone was excited for the day ahead.

Whilst Jenny was getting her makeup & hair done by the incredible @charlotte_mallindermua & @zoenicole_hair, I took lots of candids of the family having fun. This is also where I like to capture all of the little details, such as the dress (from @elitebridaluk), floristry (by @stemsdesign), plus shoes and rings to name a few!

Once ready, Jen got in her dress and came down the stairs to show her family. It was such a lovely moment of her mum & dad, I could really see just how proud they are of her.

Jen was ready to go, and outside waiting for her was a classic car! She truly did arrive in style at The Fleece Countryside Inn!

The ceremony was beautiful, with Jens Mum, Susan saying some lovely words.

We then all headed outside for their formal photos and couple portraits. Once the drinks started to come out, I then start taking lots of lovely candids whilst Jenny & Ben enjoyed time with their guests.

The speeches and evening reception are always the perfect time to get all of those fun & exciting photos. There was so much laughter & joy from J&B’s wedding, I loved every moment of it.

Combermere Abbey Wedding Photography

Charlotte & Chris’ wedding, at Combermere Abbey

Bride and groom at Combermere Abbey in Cheshire, walking within the gardens

Combermere Abbey - Cheshire

I was so incredibly excited when I got Charlotte’s email, asking me to photograph her wedding at Combermere Abbey.

It had been one of the venues I had been waiting to shoot at - so I was very excited to finally get to go and capture a wedding there.

Combermere Abbey is in Cheshire, on the border of Shropshire, which isn’t too far from me!

Obviously, its always going to be a bit of a bonus when a venue is more local, but the fact that it’s one of THE most beautiful venues I’ve worked at - was even more amazing!

Bright, Light & Full of love - Cheshire Wedding Photography

Chris & Charlotte are such a laid back and relaxed couple, which really was clear when they booked me. They just wanted the day to be blissful and chilled, and wanted me to capture the day in a natural & relaxed way - perfect!

When I arrived, I met Charlotte in the Keepers cottage, she was so smiley & excited. Her bridesmaids were enjoying Prosecco whilst steaming their dresses - the air was full of laughter.

Light & Airy wedding photography

I went on the hunt to then find Chris, who had just arrived.

On the way down to the lads, I went through the most beautiful gardens at Combermere, adorned with colour and romance.

Being a lovely summers day, it was literally perfect & I was SO excited!

Chris & his groomsmen were all ready for me, we then took some photos of them together whilst they were looking dapper in their cream suits.

I must admit, I do love a cream suit - especially on a sunny day!

Moments that truly matter

Charlotte was then getting ready for her final touch ups & into her dress. She looked absolutely stunning in her satin dress & veil.

I always try to capture meaningful moments all throughout the day - and when Charlotte told me about her dad’s passing, she showed me the most beautiful sentiment I think ive ever seen. Her dad’s fingerprint and handwriting, etched into a charm which ws on her bouquet. So he got to walk down the aisle with her too. Honestly, such a beautiful thought to remember him on her special day.

The Glasshouse at Combermere Abbey, Shropshire

Once ready, we headed over to the stunning Glasshouse. Chris was waiting patiently for Charlotte, with the biggest smile as she walked up the aisle.

The air was full of love, you can truly see how much they adore one another. Holding hands & saying I do, underneath the beautiful blossom tree.

The FIRST KISS

Surrounded by family & friends, Charlotte and Chris said “I do” at Combermere Abbey, In Cheshire.

Soon after the ceremony, we headed out for the confetti photo! Everyone was cheering and the happy couple came out beaming. They enjoyed the sun, enjoying drinks and golf on the gardens. We took lovely portraits of the wedding party in the gardens, before heading off to the Abbey for some photos of them alone.

It was the most perfect day, for the most perfect couple!

Sarah & Claire at The Mill Barns

I was so excited to come to the Mill Barns to capture Claire & Sarahs wedding.

They had booked their wedding in 2021! But due to covid, it got postponed to 2023.

Luckily, I was free on their second date - and we got to enjoy their wedding at the beautiful venue they had dreamed of.

Relaxed wedding at The Mill Barns

Sarah & Claire are such a relaxed and friendly couple! We first met at a wedding fair where they told me all of their ideas for their big day. They really emphasised on wanting natural & candid photos, and spending time with their family & friends. Of course, we got some “posed” and “formal” photos too, but overall they wanted a laid back approach to me documenting their day.

CANDID PHOTOGRAPHY

This was perfect for me, as I love capturing everything in a natural & unobtrusive way. My goal is to document everything, as and how it’s happening, and giving gentle props as and when needed.

Natural wedding photography at The Mill Barns

With a love of details & candids, I want you to remember your day as & how it happens. To be reminded of the ‘little’ things, the ‘big’ things & everything in between. Most of C&S’s day was about capturing the moments, the laughter & the love. They had the most amazing morning getting ready in separate rooms - which I went back and forth to. Its great having both perspectives on the morning, as no details goes amiss.

Walking up the aisle, together.

One of the most beautiful moments form their wedding, was when Sarah & Claire walked up the aisle simultaneously, meeting each other at the top. It really was a special moment when they saw each other. There was so much happiness between them - it was so heartwarming which brought a lot of (happy) tears!

Evening reception

After the ceremony & group photos, the wedding party enjoyed their meal & speeches. Full of laughter and fun - the evening reception soon started which was amazing!

Everyone joined in with their best dance moves! It’s always lovely to see people joining in and not having a care in the world. It’s all about letting your hair down and enjoying time with your friends & family - which is exactly what they did.

I had the most amazing time capturing their wedding, and I cant wait to be back at The Mill Barns soon.

If you’re getting married at The Mill Barns too, please don’t hesitate to contact me to have a chat about your big day!
